Starved…

I might seem crazy,
Thoughts running wild,
Seems here now but not,
I am there but I am not,
Starved mind I think,
Possessed it has become,
Unrealistic dreams allover,
Never thinking straight.

The word moves ahead,
Life moves on,
The mind strays,
Away to the fields,
The open fields,
Where the grass is green,
And lushy,
Welcoming thoughts,
Reversed mind games.

Look outside,
I see people,
A reflection of people I should say,
Empty bodies moving around,
Looking for something,
Maybe food?
No,
They are half dead half alive,
Moving sacks!
These are those who were the who and who in society untill they stumbled down the ladder with the regime change,
Crumbling continues,
Things will never get any better.

Rampant corruption, tribalism, clanism, nepotism, favouritism and impunity,
Have taken over,
Those in power say things are getting better,
The masses cry out,
No one comes to their rescue,
The same shallow minds will vote with their stomachs come election time,
Voting for the tribesmen,
And the cycle continues.

We will never see the best in us,
Untill we come out of our tribal cocoons and think more of the society as a whole and deliver it to our children’s children.

Unanivuta kwako,
Kicheko chako,
Kinanitia pako,
Busu lako,
Linanizindua uweko,
Uandaapo piko,
Zaidi ya muuza soko,
Umbo lako hunitia hamu,
Mduara akili hunizunguka,
Kila nitiapo macho yangu kwako,
Kwa madaha hupita,
Labda nitatazama tu,
Ukinipa hata kimawazo,
Sita hamu tena.

Mapenzi kitu kitamu,
Yamekuwa tangu mwanzo,
Hayeshi kamwe,
Labda kwa mmoja kuaga,
Al’o baki huendelea mbele,
Hata kupatana na penzi mbadala,
Ingawa ni tofauti,
Bado ni penzi,
Raha kumpa anayependwa,
Machozi na kuvunjwa roho,
Kuchezwa na kulaghai,
Hila aina yake,
Vigumu kuponesha,
Iwapo kidonda kitatoneshwa.

Kukutunza nitakutunza,
Kwa kila njia,
Nitafanya hima,
Ili upate utakacho,
Utulivu hadi moyoni,
Uzuri wako kuzawadiwa,
Umetunukiwa mpenzi!

Maybe Life is just a trip

Bright and aluring,
Excited to see,
And experience,
Your face,
A lovely face,
Smiling,
Happy moments,
Seeing the face,
Today,
I am still smiling,
The thought of it all, makes everything about you endure forever.

The world is changing,
Fewer and fewer chances come by,
In the pursuit of life
We go through a lot,
Love is our hope,
The end is but the end,
An unstoppable force,
Pushing us to the extreme,
Just to make a living!

They try to bring you down,
Stepping on you,
Crushing you,
Pissing on you,
Spitting on you,
Demeaning you,
Belittling your ways,
Creating stumbling blocks and building walls. To halt your progress.
Making all you do unbearable.

In misery you forge ahead,
Doing your best,
Your head kept high,
Moving through the tides,
All along it is clear to you that,
Life is just a trip and,
Even death has a reason!

Usivuke mipaka,
Pole pole itafika,
Endelea kusaka,
Unapoenda kumekauka,
Haki yako utaipata,
Muda uta’po wadia.

Kilio chako,
Machozi yako,
Maumivu yako,
Mapuuza yako,
Siku itawadia kwako,
Utazawadiwa na kurambia,
Tamu kama sukari.

Fungua macho yako,
Usisifu tu kwa kusifu,
Hitaji ni lako,
Kwao sio hitaji,
Heri ujifiche,
Ujipange,
Ujijenge,
Lazima kujilisha,
Baadaye tupatane.

Nikumbatie,
Hamu imezidi,
Kukuona tu,
Malaika hunisimama,
Raha zako kwangu kuzidi,
Ndani ya roho kutulizwa.

Chuki ni uchafu wa moyo,
Usijitie hasara kwa chuki,
Kununa kwa watu ni kawaida,
Walimwengu wamejaa roho za kutu,
Kukupokonya vyako ndiyo raha yao.

Asiyekujua hatafahamu,
Wakati wako utafika,
Mafanikio yako,
Sio kipimo cha utu,
Maadui wanatambaa,
Kukutazama kila upande,
Kukucheka ukiporomoka,
Ubinadamu umewapotea.

Hakuna kitu kizuri,
Kama kuishi vyema,
Na watu wenzako,
Usichukie wenzio,
Usiwe na roho mbaya,
Atakaye kuzika humjui.

Tulia tuli,
Umewekwa ukawekeka,
Usiwe kiruka njia,
Na baadaye kumlaumu kila mtu,
Kabati lako liwe lako,
Usiligeuze la dhobi!

Stopped looking towards you,
Because you said I was starring,
Stopped calling out your name,
You said it was irritating,
Stopped coming over,
Feels like I was replaced and,
It was experimental!

It seemed perfect,
Used to pride myself over other men,
I wish it could still be that way,
Something else is on your mind,
But it is all right,
Functioning like a robbot,
Might wake up,
And find myself home.

Am gone,
Almost there,
Never changed who I am,
All the struggle,
My mind came to a stop,
I am still alive but,
Memories don’t live and,
Trust never comes easy.

Hitaji

Kukuwaza kila uchao,
U sehemu ya nafsi yangu,
Mahitaji yangu,
Tamanio langu,
Uponyo wa upweke wangu,
Ni wewe dawa yangu,
Uwa langu la moyoni,
Hurahisisha tamaa yangu,
Kunituliza kikamilifu.

Siku huwa refu,
Nikukosapo karibu,
Chakula sili,
Hewa hunikimbia,
Moyo husononeka,
Hadi ujapo,
Kunituliza tuli.

Raha naipata nikuonapo,
Karaha kwa mahasibu wetu,
Kufanya tuyapendayo,
Nafsi zetu kutulia,
Tamanio kutulizwa,
Kupepea mawazoni,
Hadi anga ya saba.

That smell…

Sometimes it is about us,
Sometimes it just fades away,
Want to stay here forever,
Close your eyes,
Take us away from here,
Perhaps it’s a bad time,
You can’t just keep jostling,
For you never listen,
Sit down and eat what you have,
Cannot endure this anymore,
Push on,
This is like a cage,
Wants and needs all alike,
Conspiring against us.

You see it,
Kill it,
Do what you wish,
Run,
The rules,
Don’t live by them,
Live your own life,
Your destiny!

The Escape

The overload,
Stupid thoughts,
The urge,
The thirst,
Suddenly its a feeling,
It is a surge,
Even though significant,
The loss of my punchlines,
No longer scared now,
Hit the brakes on it!

Medication maybe,
An outfit for the needs,
Out of my lips,
My heavy head,
Make it my own,
No need to understand,
Doing all these,
Subconscious of the repercussions,
Like I already had the medal.

Everything I need,
All on the sides,
Who wants me?
Another gravel maybe,
What a savage,
Ends in darkness,
Out of my skin,
Escaping reality?

The pain of it all,
It is almost over,
All that I have been,
In the system,
Not a moment in thought,
Never too far,
To where I wish for,
Trying to make it my way,
I still might,
I must get up,
And escape!

Sometimes

The pressure is just too much,
Sometimes I get upset,
Sometimes I feel like quiting,
My mind about to explode,
With everything that I own,
Time to take matters in my own hands,
Not to follow their footsteps,
I am setting my own,
Never bothered about the sorroundings,
It is my credibility,
Maybe I need a new outlet,
Trying to travel this road,
There is no sun,
No moon,
It is too dark to move,
Yes,
It aint my fault,
It takes all,
All I need is a catch.

I am sorry,
I will travel alone,
Time to escape,
I am gone,
It is the only way I know,
It is my road!

But why do I keep on fighting,
Is it everything I need?
Is it worth it?
Where must I go?
Who must I know?

Maybe climb up,
Forcefully if I may,
To reach the new world,
I might not know where to,
But just trying to regain back,
All that I seem to have lost,
My lost defences,
The overload,
It only requires time.

Where do I go?
Suddenly it is a search,
Of the unknown,
Get scared,
Stand up to the fear?
Just go on!

I cant climb up,
Same old crap,
Whatever goes on,
In my little head,
I got all the ingredients,
All I need is the push,
I have learned,
It is time for me to u-turn,
Never to drop,
No pulling apart,
Time to explode!

Nyakati zinanipita,
Hata labda hewa itanitoroka,
Sina njia,
Sina marafiki,
Jamaa wangu wamenitoroka,
Wamenifukuza!
Sina bazi wala kazi,
Niende wapi?

Chakula balaa,
Maji adimu,
Unyang’anyi kila upande,
Sababu ya unyonge!

Nitaomba wapi?
Kila anionaye anifukuza bila ya kunena,
Naonewa mie,
Masikitiko kila uchao,
Ila sikupendelea kuwa hivi.

Jamani naonewa,
Kila mabaya yaja upande wangu,
Nateseka mie,
Unyonge utanimaliza!
